Many pundits and prognosticators are still asking why Donald Trump was able overthrow the Republican establishment and capture the party nomination. I have heard even some libertarian-leaning people have supported him. Why is all of this happening?
I surmise one reason is Trump is capitalizing on many Americans aversion to the ever growing welfare state. This is especially true when Americans devastated by the seven years of stagnant economic growth see newly arrived people being placed immediately on the dole.

My guess is that if the last seven years were better economically many Americans would not be attracted to Trump. Just a guess on my part, what do you think?
